Landmasters featured in Senior Style magazine

March 15th, 2010

Landmasters owner Bill Sopko was recently featured in an article in Senior Style magazine, where he discusses how he works with his prospective clients to find the perfect landscaping to fit their property and budget:

Bill Sopko, owner of Landmasters Landscaping, says the best thing about his job is seeing the joy and surprise in his customers when he transforms their property.

“My goal always is  to totally over-exceed my customers expectations with how the project will turn out,” says Bill. “It is a great feeling to render them speechless, and leave them with a beautiful outdoor living area that enables them to enjoy their property to its fullest, and make them proud to show it off to their friends and neighbors.” Landmasters gets almost all of their customers through referrals. “I look at my existing customer base as my main asset,” says Bill. “If my clients are extremely happy, they will be more than happy to tell their friends and neighbors about their experience with us. I always accompany my proposal to new and prospective clients with a list of references and homeowners from recently completed jobs. And I have an almost endless supply, so I encourage people to call and ask questions, and to visit the jobs we’re working on to see how we go about our craft.”

Bill should know a thing or two about doing impressive landscaping jobs. He has been landscaping here in the Poconos and northeastern Pennsylvania for most of his life, and has won more awards with the Pocono Mountain Chamber of Commerce and Pocono Builders Association for his landscape de- signs and installations than anyone in history. He is also the only land- scaper to have ever won the Award of Excellence(Best in Show-Best overall project) other than a builder or architect!

Landmasters does jobs of all sizes and price ranges, and will come out and meet with you to discuss your needs and provide several options for landscaping your house. He will do a basic landscape design, a “middle-of-the-road” landscape design and an optimum landscape design. These designs include pricing options and plans to do the work in stages.

Landmasters handles all aspects of landscape design, installation and maintenance. They can install deer-proof and low maintenance plantings, or formal, high-impact plantings. They install paving stone walkways, patios and driveways, natural stone walkways, patios, steps and firepits. They install boulders as retaining walls, steps and as natural additions to the landscape. They install waterfalls and water-features, landscape lighting, irrigation systems, lawns, and all manner of decks, gazebos trellises and arbors. Landmasters also is equipped to handle the most severe drainage issues and extremely difficult site conditions. And they do it all in a courteous, efficient and professional manner.

“Our main specialty if we have one is finding a way to properly utilize our clients property in a way that best fits their house style, budget and lifestyle. Technically, whatever install we are doing will be perfect, and artistically, it will be awesome. So we rely on our customers input, how they picture themselves using the outside space around their home, and what their lifestyle is; For example, do they wish to entertain a lot? Do they want a private area outside where they can read and spend time reflecting, perhaps with a small water feature which always encourages reflection, or do they want a roaring, gas-powered remote-controlled firepit that will blow people away? Do they want a perennial garden that attracts butterflies, or do they want their own putting green? The red-hot trend in landscaping right now are outdoor kitchens and bars, and ours are extremely creative, one-of-a kind masterpieces, if that is what our client is after.

“So we match our customers wishes and dreams with a budget that works and then we install the landscaping, professionally and efficiently. And when we are invited back for a dinner or a party, and get to experience our customers true satisfaction and happiness first-hand, as friends, it makes all the hard work worthwhile.”

Bill Sopko is a lifelong resident of the Pocono Mountains. He is active in the Pocono Builders Association and he and his wife Leslie are long-time coaches and sponsors in Pocono-area youth sports groups. They have three children, Adam, Austin and Alexander, and a bulldog named Wallace.
